I'm engaged!! I know that most of you already know but I've been so busy the last couple of weeks I haven't been able to blog about it. I'm SO excited and feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I am marrying one of the sweetest men I have ever met. His name is David Packard but everyone has called him Bud since he was a little kid. He is from Carlsbad, CA just outside of San Diego. He is number four of 10 children and has a wonderful family. We originally met because he was assigned to be my home teacher last July but we didn't really get to know each other until we both started hanging out with a mutual friend of ours Karli sometime in August. I started to like him sometime in October and I think he became interested sometime in November. We drove home to CA for Christmas together and had a really good time and finally went on our first date at the end of January. He went on a date with one of our other friends the week after that and then took me out again the next week. We've been inseprable ever since.
We took a trip to CA the weekend of May 17th to visit our families and so he could speak at his nephews baptism. We went to Magic Mountain, did a session at the San Diego Temple, walked around La Jolla Cove and just hung out with family. It was SO much fun. Saturday was of course the best because it was that night that he asked me to marry him. It wasn't a formal "get down on one knee" proposal. We were just talking about how much fun we had been having and how close we'd become in such a short time. He then told me that he loved me and that he knew without a doubt that I was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. I of course started crying and told him that I felt the same way. I told him I'd never been happier in my life and would be honored to be his wife. Ok...it's kind of mushy I know but everyone has been asking me for details so there you go. :)
We are being sealed in the San Diego Temple on August 16, 2008 at 3:00 pm and will have a reception in Carlsbad, CA that evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Love to see you all there if you can make it!

Sorry I started bawling when you told me Kim, I am so happy for you. You have been able to accomplish so many things and I am so excited that you have found someone that makes you feel the way Karlie makes me feel. I just couldn't be happier for you!
I did read that on Shelly's blog, but I wasn't sure cuz your blog didn't say anything yet. Soooooo....CONGRATULATIONS! That is so exciting. And what a beautiful temple to be sealed in. I'm so happy for you!
Well I guess you proved yourself wrong when you said "It seems like all the good guys are either married, gay or dead." :) I am so happy and excited for you. Congratulations!
